S’more to Come

Dear Pack 405 Families,

I hope you’re enjoying your summer and getting some well-deserved time outdoors (or at least near some air conditioning). I’m excited to introduce myself as the new Cubmaster of Pack 405 — and even more excited to welcome you to the start of what’s shaping up to be an incredible Scouting year.

We just wrapped up our annual leaders planning meeting, where we reviewed what’s worked, talked about what we could do better, and laid out a full year of adventure, learning, and fun. From classic activities like the Pinewood Derby and Raingutter Regatta to campouts, “field trips”, and community service projects, we’ve got a lot planned — and plenty of room for new ideas along the trail.

Positive Popcorn Possibilities

One of our big goals this year is strengthening our fundraising efforts, not just for this year’s events, but to help offset Pack dues in future years, making scouting more affordable and accessible for every family. We’re committed to keeping the cost of participation manageable while still offering great experiences.

We’ll be kicking off our season with a Pack Meeting on Monday, July 28, which will include our Crossover ceremony for younger scouts and a chance to review our Back-to-School recruitment efforts. We’ll be asking for your help — whether that’s distributing flyers, representing us at a school table, or simply sharing your Scout’s excitement with a friend or neighbor. Every little bit helps us grow.

You’re likely reading this on our new Pack website, which we’re proud to launch this month! Be sure to check out the calendar, event details, leader contact info, and more. We’ll continue to add more scout photos, scheduled events and updates as the year gets going.

I’m honored to serve as your Cubmaster and look forward to working with all of you to make this year the best yet for our Scouts. If you have any questions, ideas, or want to lend a hand, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Yours in Scouting,
David Galloway
